There are no degrees of rapists. They are just that.  If they know how to dominate, subdue and have sex with a woman, by force, without her consent, they are criminals no matter what their age. A rapist has no value for life, his or hers.  But he certainly values his domination and masculinity.  So it's simply apt to take away from him what he values and misuses the most. Isn't it?  Take away the tool which is causing the crime and let him feel the shame and pain for the rest of his life.  Somewhere in the world, his victim still living with her dignity shattered and lifelong trauma and distrust of mankind. Putting her perpetrator’s life out is hardly going to serve the purpose. Therefore, I would never advocate hanging for rape. It should be castration. Rest as...

Last year, I did something which I wish I had done many years ago. I did LASIK surgery on my eyes and for the first time in 25 years, I actually could see without my glasses. Oh those hideous, ugly glasses…only a person wearing them will know the disadvantages of living with this horrible accessory. I have lived through the phase of hard lenses, semi soft lenses and even the change everyday super soft ones. But trust me, nothing compares to seeing with your own eyes. I am in my mid thirties and one doctor tried to discourage me saying that it was too late. I would in any case, get reading glasses in the next five years, so I should not waste money for these five-six years. So then I did what was best for me. I went to another doctor. I’d avoided the eye surgery for the past ten years but now, I was so sick and tired of glasses and lenses that even if it was for a year, I wanted to experience being glass-free…something which I hadn’t been since I was in the sixth stand...

A B.E.S.T. bus droned along noisily, and made its way through the labyrinth of cars, taxis, beggars and noxious fumes. The young man was good looking and in his mid-twenties. He sat in the fifth row behind the driver. Dressed in an impeccably crisp shirt and pants a pair of smart sun glasses only enhanced his profile. These gorgeous birds called Lory or Lorikeets are cousins of parrots and parakeets. These birds are found mostly in the Southern Hemisphere.   These two birds were eating from the same cup, without fighting for food. In fact, it was really amusing to see them taking turns to eat their food. Something which some people can learn from them. You just need to call them and they will hop on your arm and feed from your hands, hop on your shoulders and generally, just make you feel very special among them.    They are not afraid of close contact with human beings...of course, after they are well fed. Finally, we spotted the elusive, solitary, majestic white parakeet with it's crown. The king of the parrot kingdom.  Location: Jurong Bird Park, Singapore.

There's an area in the Jurong Bird Park, Singapore, which is called the Penguin Coast. It houses these gorgeous Jackass Penguins...yeah, they are actually called that. When were stood around to take their pictures, they actually came out of the water and posed for a perfect picture. As soon as we were done, they all jumped back into the water...  Gorgeous creatures...ain't they?

I am not sure which species of flower is this one, given that the Jurong Bird Park is home many many plants and over 400 species of birds. This picture was submitted for the Thursday Challenge. Click here to know more.
